2024, at half time
It’s the end of June, and it’s getting hotttttttt on the DSB train that is closing in on Copenhagen, from which I am writing this. It’s probably another situation outside; hotter, I guess – but who knows? It’s been a real on-and-off season for Plays Softly, and I’m happy you’re still here. I’m equally happy and, to be honest, quite surprised that so many of you keep joining, despite the irregularity. I’m sure it’ll be back to a new normal after summer. Previous seasons, I’ve ended with some songs. For this season finale, I’ll end with a list.
• The girl, so confusing with lorde is popular culture answering »fix your hearts or die« in style, finally
• BRAT is, of course, the album of the year so far; So I is my favorite song off of it
• SOPHIE 4-ever
• When the sun gets too loud, fight it with the murky moods of Senyawa’s album Vajranala
• e.s.t. 30 is just a lovely moment in time, caught on tape
• #RICHAXXHAITIAN by Mach-Hommy is never less than good, and more often than not: great
• Why is 1010benja not a superstar? Listen to Waterworks, listen to the whole album Ten Total, then sign the petition and we’ll get this sorted before EOY
• And lastly, an ad: BACKEN simply red is back in stock
Take care, and see you again in late August,
Jacob
